You got me on most of those. I knew the word origin. I&#39ve never read L&#39Amour as I&#39m not typically a fan of the romanticized ideas of the west, and I only knew of Gopher tangentially.

I&#39m not sure if thinking as Jughead as a comic character really dates you. Forsythe Pendleton "Jughead" Jones III first appeared in Archie comics about 1941, and they&#39re still publishing them, aren&#39t they?

In the 1920s, "jughead" was a fairly common insult for a stupid or foolish person. In one of the Louis L&#39Amour novels, set in the 1800s, there&#39s a character who refers to his jughead horse, although I was never sure whether he was referring to a physical characteristic or the horse&#39s addle-pated behavior.

And, of course, to SOME of us, Jughead is a tool for Gopher administrators. THAT probably would date you. Gopher threatened to become a popular internet protocol but was cut off at the pass by HTTP. Most web browsers understand the Gopher protocol.

I&#39m really glad that Lost is moving away from the bad quasi Buddhist references that were initially spiked during the Alpert / lil&#39 Locke meeting. It&#39s a shift towards a more "scientifically" based reality. However, that science is going to likely destroy Locke - he&#39s the one who bought fully into the spirituality of the island.

Charlie being Charlie is one of my longshot predictions. I&#39d put the odds at slim-at-best, but it&#39s Lost.

As far as Faraday creating a lot of the technology on the island, that could make a lot of sense. He could have originally been involved in Dharma at Widmore&#39s behest.

Well where do I start?

- I think Charlie (Desmond&#39s kid) is just named after Charlie since he was a cool dude and died to save their lives.

- I am thinking that Faraday may have actually re-invented (or maybe even invented in the first place) the technology that is on the island. Widmore had him on the payroll trying to help him get back to the island.

- I think many many questions will be answered when we see who Faraday&#39s mom is. "She&#39s a very private person" got me thinking all kinds of things, but who knows. As you said it&#39s Lost! Anything goes.

- The Richard Alpert/John Locke exchange makes sense of the episode last season when he asked him as a kid "Show me which items already belong to you".

I have much more, but I can&#39t get it all out. LOL

"Charlie" I agree with Andrew that it was a tribute. But this is LOST. Wasn&#39t Charlie on the island an orphan? and had a brother etc... so more than likely a tribute.

Ellie was the name of the Aussie check I think that young Other " Widmore" and Faraday encountered. Not sure if we got a CW wife&#39s name given in past episodes. Does anyone recall?

Interesting for me is the Faraday experimentation on the Red Headed Aussie that he "deserted" in the future and Widmore is Supporting.

Wonder if they will use a Ashton Kucher "Butterfly Effect" movie Space Time Theme of events that changes time lines. Didn&#39t Faraday already Discount the "Butterfly Effect" saying you can&#39t change the past? or something?

The only reason I stuck with the Charlie thing is that everyone is coming back to LA. Faraday&#39s mother, who is almost certainly Ms Hawkings (Season 3 Jewelry store, Season 5 cryptic computer lady) is there to draw back Desmond.

Sun flew there herself.

It&#39s a bit foolish to think that just because Desmond wasn&#39t part of the Oceanic Six that he doesn&#39t have to return to the island. As Faraday told him, he&#39s "special. "

I caught the "Charlie" thing as well and entertained the same idea, but my wife said that Desmond named his son that since Charlie gave up his life to save them. Still not totally convinced.

Lost is throwing all their cards on the table (except the proverbial Ace up their sleeve) yet still managing to generate more questions than answers. Great season and still a fantastic ride.
